Could someone please confirm if this number is legitimate, as it appeared on the check I received in the mail?
ADP check scam warning – what to know!
Summary — +18774237243
Expert Opinion
Guard your details when an unfamiliar number asks you to verify a check. Calls from +18774237243 often masquerade as ADP payroll or grant verification, then pressure you to share your name, address, bank account, or to return money via gift cards. Never send personal info to anyone who contacts you first, especially if they cite an unexpected check or grant. If a check arrives unexpectedly, contact the issuing company directly using a known phone or website, not the caller’s number. Report suspicious calls to the FTC and your bank, and consider placing the number on a call‑block list.

Providing personal information to a suspected scammer is a decision I now regret.

It is unclear how a check can be received via email, raising questions about the legitimacy of this claim
A scam targeting kids and teens has been identified, using a verification number, potentially linked to a real phone number, but associated with a bad check sent to my child via email, and after depositing the check, they requested money back, thankfully stopped by the bank's alert system.
I was offered a grant, but after completing the form, I realized it was a scam and had inadvertently provided my birthday and address.
Fortunately, i caught this scam on time, my bank will return the deposit, what a releif!!!!!
This number is associated with a terrible scam that has caused significant financial loss to my family, including my child, and we were forced to take action with our bank.
A scam targeting our family involved fraudulent 'payroll' checks sent to a grandson, totaling over $6,000, with the scammers requesting gift cards in return, which thankfully was caught and addressed with fraud divisions, serving as a reminder that nothing is free and caution must be exercised.
A legitimate payment of $10 was received by mail as compensation for participating in a Gap survey, which contradicts concerns about information theft.
Much appreciated!
