Scam Alert: Suspicious Equifax Phone Number!

I received an email regarding changes to my account pin, instructing me to call 888-228-7783 if I had questions, which appears to be a phishing scam, as evidenced by similar reports from 2018.

An email notification was received, purportedly regarding a PIN change initiated by the recipient.

This call is clearly a scam, and I find it amusing.

The email address and subject line used appear to be a phishing attempt, claiming to be from Equifax but seeming highly suspicious.

Following my completion of I9 information through Equifax for a job, I received a spam email from this sender, which seemed unusual.

If you're concerned about your account just log in and check, otherwise just delete the email and forget about it

My Google password was altered by them

Upon receiving a new job and email address, I was surprised to find a message from this number, which claimed to be an Equifax hotline, but a quick online search revealed it was not listed on their official website, raising suspicions of spam due to poor grammar and spelling, as well as the lack of specificity regarding the PIN in question.

I recieved an email from pim_confirmation@noreply.talx.com, which seemed fishy, and I'm not sure what to make of it

Beware, as this is a deceptive scheme that resulted in my money being withdrawn from my checking account, a mistake I regret dearly

Equifax's fraud department can be contacted at 1-888-228-7783 if fraud is suspected, as indicated on a one-time password sent via US mail

Six suspicious emails were received, prompting a search for this number, which led to this platform, revealing an obvious scam, particularly during tax season

I had a similair experience but with a letter sent to my mailbox instead

These individuals are impersonating Equifax, but they are actually fake and untrustworthy

A message with the subject 'PIM confirmation' was received, containing spelling errors, which raises concerns about the authenticity of the communication
