Structured Settlement scam calls – what to do

Upon receiving the first call on my cell phone, a man claiming to be John King from Structured Settlements stated that an automatic withdrawal was authorized from my checking account, and when I listened to his voicemail at work, it said I wrote a bad check with Wells Fargo, which I never had an account with, and he need me to call him back as soon as posible

I recieved a call from a different number, but was instructed to call this number regarding a red flag on my account, however, I have no record of overdrafts, and I'm skeptical.

A message from someone claiming to be William from Dr. Settlement was left, stating that a payment issue had arisen and needed to be resolved to avoid penalty fees, with a request to call back at 888-585-2112, citing federal law regarding debt collection.

Repeated calls have been made by an individual claiming to be John King from Structured Settlements, despite requests to cease contact due to company policy violations.

A hyper agressive message was left after a cold call about an old debt, it is essential to ignore these people, they use scare tactics and try to force imediate payment.

A call purportedly from a debt collector claimed I had a loan from another state, linked to a Wachovia bank account. However, I explained that this was impossible given my employment status and lack of connection to the mentioned bank or location.

A legitamate debt collector would never leave such informtion on a voicemail or answeing machine, nor would they talk to anyone but the debtor without permision
