Expert Opinion
Receiving calls that allege multiple infractions under your name and demand an immediate callback can feel alarming, but the safest move is to never return the call. Hang up, block the offending number, and report it to the FTC and your phone carrier. Verify any legitimate debts by contacting the actual creditor directly—not through a recorded message. Keep your personal details off public sites and consider a credit freeze if you suspect identity theft. Regularly update your Do‑Not‑Call list, and educate family members about the typical script used in these scams. Prompt reporting helps authorities track the operation and protects others.
