After receiving a mailing purportedly from Discover credit alert, informing me that my information had been compromised on the dark web, I called the listed 888 number. However, I was immediately asked to provide my social security number, which raised suspicions. I subsequently contacted Discover directly and verified that this was indeed a scam.
Upon receiving a notification about activity on a dormant account, I contacted the phone number listed on my Discover card to verify the information. Initially, the representative was unable to confirm the letter's authenticity, but after being transferred to the identity theft department, it was validated and I was informed about the specific credit card involved. I recieved a call from somebody who claim to be Marsha from Discover identity theft, but when I call Discover directly they say they didnt make the call and dont have this number in they system
A notice apearing to be from discover, stating that experian had reported a change in my credit card address, was recieved, however the phone number on the card confirmed it to be a hoax, likely a result of stolen computer printing forms.
After contacting Discover through the number listed on my card, a representative determined that the call was related to their identity theft program.

After identifying this as a scam, I contacted Discover's Identity Theft Line, confirming that the number is not registered with them and should be treated with caution.
I was targeted by an ID Theft Protection scam today, so I promptly contacted my actual ID protection service and reported the incident; they informed me that they did not initiate the call, and I am now freezing my credit to prevent any potential damage.
Notably, I also recieved a letter with my credit card company's letterhead requesting me to call this number to complet the enrollment proces for my Theft Protection Plan
Upon recieving a call on my cel, the caller requested to verify my current adress, claiming ID Theft protection would be discontinued if i didnt call back, but when i did, they asked for 4 digits of my social, which i refused to give, and instead contacted my ID Theft protection provider, who confirmed they didnt make such a call
