Attempted to sell life insurance while impersonating my current provider, a clear scam since I'm aware they're not affiliated.
Persistent sales harassment exposed

Expert Opinion
Callers pretending to represent your existing insurance provider while pushing new policies scream scam tactics, as one recipient spotted right away. Persistent ringing and aggressive follow-ups, even after clear rejections, point to harassment that can distress vulnerable folks, like those with mental health issues. Blocking unknown numbers is a smart move to dodge risks. To stay safe, never share personal details over unsolicited calls; verify any claims directly with your real provider. Register with the Telephone Preference Service to cut down on unwanted sales pitches, and report nuisances to Action Fraud if they escalate.

A friend (who is schizophrenic) received numerous calls and SMS about not answering, flagged as "Likely Nuisance" on her iPhone. I called back thinking it might be important, got cut off, and they called again. The marketer was the rudest, most aggressive person I've ever dealt with. I told them we weren't interested, passed the phone to my friend who said NO four times, and the call only ended when I warned I'd hang up and asked them not to call again.
I didn't answer an unknown caller and blocked the number – better safe than sorry.
