My local energy adviser, Gabby, gets inundated with these calls – often they’re not actually Gabby, and they’re invariably scams.
A call came in on my landline, but I couldn’t answer in time. I dialled 1471 to trace the number and, thanks to the information here, confirmed it was an energy scam.
I have never met anyone using that prefix, so it struck me as a likely scam.
