Left it to ring out to answerphone, but zilch message left! Shrug.
Took the call, stayed mum, they bailed. Classic scammer move - they grab it only if you speak, else it's a dud line
Pushing sales for windows and doors. Told 'em we're not keen and hung up. Might be legit, or perhaps a rip-off. If we needed replacements, I'd scout around myself instead of trusting some cold caller.

Answered the landline but stayed silent... after some quiet from their end, the line dropped. Just learned about this silent-answer trick against scammers, so I tested it—seems effective.
Female caller with an English accent pushing insulation services. Offered to inspect my attic. I mentioned my 30cm fibreglass setup, and she insisted on replacing it urgently to avoid cancer risks! She ended the call after I calmly pointed out her claims were rubbish.
Suspected fraud because the person disconnected when it switched to voicemail
The number was unfamiliar, but I recognised the Manchester area code. Chose not to answer. It went to voicemail, but the caller disconnected without saying a word. Just as I thought, a scam attempt.
Scammers like these just don’t get it. More and more folks are wise to these nuisance calls. If I don’t know the number, I ignore it. No voicemail? I look it up here first (cheers for the site) and then block it.
Fraud ring. Another line from someone posing as local insulation or energy rep. Added to my expanding blocked landline list.
