CLC holiday scam – how to protect yourself!
Summary — +441702822031
Expert Opinion
Being told you’ve won a free holiday but then asked for a £90 deposit is a textbook timeshare ploy. Callers repeatedly ring, use high‑pressure tactics and often claim to be from CLC or a similar holiday brand. Never share personal or banking details over the phone, especially when you didn’t enter a competition. Hang up, mark the number as spam on your handset and consider using a call‑blocking service. Report persistent harassment to the Information Commissioner’s Office and Action Fraud. Keep a written record of each call – date, time and exact wording – to aid any future complaint.

This number contacted me, claiming I had won a holiday. They knew my name and address, which was unsettling. I told them I don't enter competitions and suspected it might be a timeshare or similar scam. I asked for details and mentioned I'd check at the airport for my 'free' trip, then hung up. After reading reviews, it seems it was indeed a timeshare scam.

suspicious calls for Mr Jones
They informed me I had won a free holiday from a competition in February. They requested confirmation of details and my household's annual income. I suspect this is related to timeshare sales.
Rang today claiming I was selected for a free holiday, CLC. Requested a £90 deposit for a room in Manchester for their seminar. When I said I didn't have £90 to pay him today, he became quite pushy asking if I could borrow it from a friend! He turned quite rude to be honest and really annoyed me! I have now blocked the number.
