NewsTeam freebie scam exposed!
Summary — +442030032417
Expert Opinion
Proceed with extreme caution if this number rings, as reports highlight persistent unwanted contacts often masquerading as legitimate services. Callers frequently pose as representatives from NewsTeam, your newspaper supplier, dangling freebies like milk deliveries or toilet rolls to lure you in—yet genuine providers confirm no such offers. Many encounters end with hang-ups, eerie hold music, or dodgy accents that scream scam. Block the number straight away, report to your phone provider, and never share personal details. If pestered despite blocking, consider apps for extra spam filtering. Staying vigilant nips these nuisances in the bud.

Back at it following a two-month break. Last time, utterly exasperated by the hassle, I contacted my carrier (Tesco), and the harassment ceased. Switched to a new mobile but kept the number and SIM. Won't ever respond if it shows up on my screen.
Keeps calling me over and over, yet nobody speaks when I answer
Like the rest, they purported to provide milk, kitchen rolls, eggs, and butter via a no-cost trial. I agreed and got the items, but stopped after a fortnight. Calls persist almost daily, so I'll block now. No issues so far, but it might have been a phishing ploy since I fell for an EE impersonation scam around then.
Keeps buzzing me multiple times a day. If I answer, the caller just drops the line – proper cheeky.
Daily irritation call with no one on the line!
Con artists, block immediately
Received numerous calls from this number. Refused to ring back. No conversation occurred. Over five attempts already
Rang up, but zilch on the answerphone. Bloody nuisance, innit…
Picked up this ring, investigated and spotted scam warnings. I'll erase it and mark as spam.
Rang my mobile multiple times in the past week. Displayed as potential spam, so I ignored it. Nothing left on voicemail.
They use NewsTeam too, so maybe hacked – nada from NT direct, which sucks big time!
Shows as a pest on my phone. These buggers ring me twice daily at least. I ignore them now, but it's a right pain. Once I picked up and nobody was on the line.
On 15 February 2025, a man claiming to represent NewsTeam, my paper delivery service, called to offer a free magazine and a milk delivery service, which I declined due to the suspicious nature of the call, given the incorrect area code
On 12 February 2025, at 11:07 am, I received a call on my TPS-registered phone, which was immediately terminated by the caller; notably, I had a similar experience the previous day with someone claiming to be from NewsTeam
NewsTeam, my newspaper supplier, or so they claimed, contacted me and offered an add-on service delivering toilet rolls, kitchen rolls and dairy products for free, which i declinded, and then i contacted News Team who were not aware of this and will be looking into it
Despite being blocked, this number has attempted to contact me 13 times already.
Today i recieved two calls from this number, they claim to be from NewsTeam, my newspaper supplier, and they're offering a add-on service with free toilet rolls, kitchen rolls and dairy products, i hung up on them
This number is suspect, as someone claiming to be Colt phoned but was ignored and subsequently blocked 🚫
They have been harrassing me daily, so i just blocked them, i dont pick up, i just take note of the number and block it.
The 'Suspected Spam' label is justified, as this number continues to call despite being blocked
Calls my mobile twice a day, including weekends. Easy to spot an automated dialler - it rings 7 times then stops. If I answer and no one is there, the call cuts off after 13 seconds. If someone is there, I hang up immediately. Potentially risky - I won’t give any information to unknown numbers. I never answer calls starting with 0203 as I don’t expect any from the London area and always check first. This number is likely fake and not even from London.
This caller was relentless. There was no response, just music playing. I've now blocked them; it's pointless.
Rang twice this morning and then hung up. Now blocked.
I've had alot of texts from this number saying 'free all alert from O2', usually i just delete them but i'm glad i read these comments, will block the number now, it's annoying you can't trust any unknown numbers nowadays
I've received multiple calls from this number, often with music playing when I answer; I'm certain it's a scam and have blocked the number.
The call was cut off and all i heard was music, sounds dodgy to me
When answered, there was no one on the line, and the call was promptly terminated by the caller, leading me to mark it as spam due to the unexpected nature of the call from the London area.
Called twice but hung up upon answering.
