National Grid scam calls – how to protect yourself!
Summary — +442081332023
Expert Opinion
Block the number straight away to stop further unwanted calls. These calls are a classic scam that pretends to be from the National Grid or a similar energy provider, often demanding your personal details to arrange a fake meter replacement. Never share any information until you verify the request directly with your genuine supplier using an official contact method. Use your phone’s built‑in call‑blocking features or a third‑party app to filter the number, and report the incident to Action Fraud or your network provider. Staying sceptical and confirming any scheduled work in writing will keep you safe from fraudsters.

To stop these scams, folllow these 4 steps: 1. Report to ‘action fraud’ by googling it, then go to the ‘police.uk’ site, click on the ‘report a phishing attempt’ page, read all the informations, complete the scam report form at the bottom of the page, provide full details including any link/internet adress in the free typing space. 2. Forward scam emails and screen shots of messaging scams to the relevent autorities
It is crucial that we hold ourselves accountable for reporting these theft and phishing attempts, as outlined below. The uninformed and vulnerable are often deceived, while the rest of us are inconvenienced. Since blocking is ineffective and reporting to '7726' is an inadequate solution, it is essential that we report these incidents directly to the authorities. Foreign-based criminals exploit our lack of action, but reporting can be done efficiently by saving relevant details to favourites or contacts.
