National Lottery Scam Exposed!

Expert Opinion
Scammers posing as National Lottery reps have been ringing folk with offers of free tickets or cheap lines, knowing personal details like names and addresses to seem legit. They push for bank info or direct debits to nick your money—pure phishing. Hang up straight away if they call; don't engage or share anything. Block the number and report to Action Fraud for proper action. Verify any lottery claims directly on the official site, never through unsolicited calls. Stay vigilant; these cons sound convincing but they're dodgy as hell. If you've given details, contact your bank pronto to safeguard your account.

Someone introduced himself as Adam from the National Lottery, saying I could obtain many lines at a lower price and urging me to set up a direct debit. He already knew my name, address and date of birth, which made the pitch sound credible. I told him I wasn’t interested, he asked for a reason, I simply replied “no thank you” and hung up.
This is the third attempt from this number. The first ring was flagged as suspected spam. I didn’t answer and looked it up here.
