This is a genuine number used by Vanquis, so if you're a customer, don't block or ignore calls from this bank. However, it's impossible to be certain who is on the other end. Scammers have cloned all phone numbers used by banks. If your bank contacts you, hang up, wait for the line to clear, then ring your bank using the number on your card. Don't wait too long as the call might be urgent regarding your account. Be cautious of fake scam reports from criminals trying to trick bank customers into blocking genuine numbers. Heed this advice and verify any calls from your bank.
Always verify unexpected bank contact by calling the number on your bank card. Scammers have spoofed most bank numbers, making it hard to distinguish genuine calls. They even post fake warnings about legitimate bank numbers here to mislead people.
If you contact your bank to verify the authenticity of a call, the call centre staff can determine whether the bank is trying to reach you and transfer you to the relevant department or handle the issue, although they may not be aware of all the numbers used by the bank, and a confirmed scam attempt does not necessarily mean the number itself is fraudulent, as genuine business numbers can be spoofed, posing a significant problem for businesses and customers.
