A call arrived on 30/08/2024 claiming to be Visa security, reporting two unusual activities – a £300 Amazon purchase and a £1,100 international money order for John Hopkins in the US. Did I approve these? I don’t even know a John Hopkins in America (the caller clearly mixed up the university). They asked for my name and date of birth for verification. I replied that a genuine representative could list the transactions, then they hung up. Definite scam – beware!
