DWP pension scam alert – what to do!
Summary — +448000232076
Expert Opinion
Imagine receiving a call claiming to be from the DWP pension service, asking for security questions or bank details. First, treat any unsolicited request for personal data as suspicious. Hang up and independently verify the number on an official DWP letter or the website before sharing anything. Never provide passwords, access codes or banking information over the phone. If the caller mentions a letter that never arrived, contact DWP directly using the contact details on GOV.UK. Report the number to Action Fraud and consider adding it to your phone’s block list. Keeping a habit of checking official channels will minimise the risk of falling for a scam.

Sounds dodgy – I'd steer clear of this number.
Looks like a scam.
User notes the information as poor.
Be cautious, this is likely a scam, and it's best not to answer their calls.
Repeated calls were made, with a profile picture of a black male displayed, followed by a text message instructing me to contact the DWP at a different number, which I did not answer.
The automated message from the DWP indicated that they would return my call.
They called ten minutes ago without leaving a message. I don’t answer calls from numbers I don’t recognise.
If it were DWP, a voicemail would have been left; this number is a scam. It has called me three times, so I don’t answer calls from unrecognised numbers.
Absolutely certain this is the DWP, all good :)
At 9:56 a.m. this morning, I received a call from this number, allegedly from the DWP regarding an overpayment of carer's allowance. They requested my name, date of birth, and details about the person I care for, stating that I would receive a letter with further information. However, when I contacted the carer's allowance department using the number I had on file, they informed me that no such call had been made and that the DWP would not contact me in this manner. I was advised to ignore any future calls from this number, which I have since reported. Interestingly, I have received two more calls from this number since then.
It's best to avoid answering calls from unrecognised numbers as they could be scams
I was contacted by someone claiming to be from the DWP, but they didn't send a letter as promised, which suggests it was a scam.
A polite yet unverified caller, claiming to represent the DWP, requested to discuss my wife's pension, but the encounter has left us questioning the authenticity of the interaction.
Somebody with an Irish accent claimed to be calling about a loan I had enquired about, absolutly no chance, its a definate SCAM CALL.
Using common sense, it's clear the positive reviews are fake. They called me by the wrong name and sent texts about carer’s allowance, which I don't receive. Calling at 8:30 isn't professional either. The texts they sent didn't make sense. Clearly scammers.

Suspicious call requesting access code for my mother's LPA, especially after a recent visit from the DWP
Definitely the DWP; they called but disconnected when I answered. I called back and confirmed it was indeed the DWP.
