Is this Barclays scam? Spot the red flags!

A call arrived from this number claiming to be Barclays, yet the voice sounded completely off. They requested my online login details, clearly a scam attempt to steal information—exercise caution!

Someone with an Indian accent called, claiming to be from Barclays. They used my name, which is worrying as it seems my data has been leaked. The connection was poor, and I paused to think, but they hung up. DEFINITELY NOT BARCLAYS – this is 100% a SCAM. Be cautious and don’t share any info. I’ve blocked the number.

Following warnings on this site about a potential scam, I chose not to answer calls from this number. However, after another call today, I contacted Barclays to verify the authenticity of the calls, and they confirmed my suspicions, advising me to block the number, which I have now done.

Following a call from this number, I greeted the caller but was met with silence, prompting me to terminate the call and investigate further on this platform, ultimately leading to me blocking the number.

It's essential to exercise caution with this number, as the Indian gentleman on the other end is attempting to scam people. I've verified with Barclays, and they haven't tried to contact me regarding any issues

Received a call on 23/9/24 claiming a link was sent to my Barclays app. It seemed suspicious, so I hung up and confirmed it’s a scam online.

This morning, 29 July 2024, at 10:00 AM, I received a call from someone with an Indian accent and poor English, claiming to be from Barclays Bank; I immediately ended the call, as I couldn't trust the authenticity of the caller

This is a scam, as the caller claimed to be from Barclays but requested security ID and questions, which is not a legitimate practice for the bank; beware of this number

Despite claims that this number belongs to Barclay's, I discovered it was actually a scam after recieving a call and investigating online, so I contacted Barclay's directly through their app and they confirmed it was a scam, advising me to block the number.

After verifying with the Barclays fraud team, it was confirmed that the call was not legitimate, despite what some comments may suggest.

The phone rang, and I answered, then it redirected, and a lady with a english accent said she was from Barclays, but I wasnt having it, so I said I would call them myself, and she got annoyed and hung up, I rang Barclays and it wasnt them, I think theres been a data breach

It’s a scam! Normally I can spot them, but they’ll ask for personal details to exploit later. If you’ve shared any, contact your bank’s fraud team immediately, report it, and change your password as soon as possible!

The caller, who had an Indian accent, claimed to be from my bank, but after verifying with my bank, I found that this was a scam, and I advise others to be cautious.

This is a scam, and I always advise people to never give out details over the phone, instead, you should call your bank and ask if they tried to contact you, as soon as the lady mentioned the app verification service wasn't working, I hung up imediatly

An Asian guy claiming to be from Barclays called me, asking to discuss my banking, but I refused to give any info over the phone, he said my account was at risk, but I didnt belive him and hung up.

The individual on the other end of the call alleged to be from Barclays Bank, stating that they would send a verification request to my phone app. However, the call was abruptly terminated, and no such request was received. The overall quality of the call was poor, and the caller's demeanor lacked professionalism.

Today, I received a call from 08001615248. The caller had an Indian or Pakistani accent and spoke very poor English, alleging to represent Barclays. Upon contacting Barclays for confirmation, they informed me that they hadn't attempted to reach out to me at all. This indicates that the number is associated with a scam or spoofing, so it's best to hang up without sharing any personal information!
