Expert Opinion

Like a wolf in a sheepskin, the calls pretending to be Dell support aim to trick you into handing over personal data. Callers often cite stolen LinkedIn details and use a polished British accent to gain credibility, then push a bogus online‑trade site. The pattern of weekly repeat calls from different UK‑based numbers is typical of call‑centre spoofing. To protect yourself, never confirm identity over the phone, verify any request directly on the official Dell website, and enable two‑factor authentication on all accounts. Use your handset’s call blocking feature, report the number to the communications regulator, and consider a third‑party spam‑filtering app. Staying sceptical and keeping personal data sealed will curb the scam.

Awful individuals, have been calling me since January and they seem to be mainly Asian or of Indian or Pakistani origin with a strong British accent, they even know my full name which is rather terrifying.
They are attempting to get me to register on a scamming site that does online trading.
I have consistently refused, even asked them to cease calling me, blocked the number but they continue to ring back weekly from different numbers, mainly from the UK and Europe.
How do I find out who they are?
How did they obtain my number?
How did they know my full name?
I don’t engage in online activities or register with any business using my full name and personal number.
