Expert Opinion
Harassment from persistent callers demands immediate action to safeguard privacy. Block the number right away and enable spam filters on your device to curb unwanted contacts. Never share personal details without verified credentials—demand written confirmation instead. Register with Australia's Do Not Call list to minimize legitimate telemarketing, though scammers often ignore it. If debt-related, consult a financial advisor; for suspected fraud, report to authorities like the ACCC. Using a secondary number for sign-ups protects your primary one from data leaks. Stay vigilant against tactics like fake accents or urgent demands.

A Credit Corp agent kept calling from various numbers to harass me—how is that even legal?
Someone posing as a credit agent requested personal details; appears to be an Indian scam.
The advice was solid, but it arrived too late for those already affected; I can’t grasp how such persistent harassment can be legal.
This was a spam call; I removed it, blocked the number, and filed a report through the phone app.
The caller never identified themselves and asked for someone named Arther, which isn’t my name. After I gave my name, they demanded to speak to Arther and refused to disclose their company. The rude female on the line called me useless and hung up. When I called back pretending to be Arther, she told me to f*** my mum and disconnected.
Many credit‑card companies use these scam numbers. After you sign up for anything—fly‑buy cards, Afterpay, etc.—your number gets sold to them. My tip: keep a secondary line for sign‑ups and reserve your primary number for essential contacts like work, doctors, banks, and family. If this or a similar number calls, don’t call back and let it ring out, then block it immediately.
No voicemail is left, identity isn’t verified, and they continue harassing my parents with ever‑changing callback numbers.
The call claimed to be from Credit Corp, urging an increase in payments.
When I tried returning the call, the line rang once before switching to a busy signal.
