Just got a call from Citibank's card fraud service
The call dropped the instant I answered; a genuine caller would likely call back or leave a message, which never happened, raising concerns about authenticity.
So they claimed my card was comprimised, sent an sms too. Thing is, I dont have a Citibank credit card and this aint their number.
Got a call from them after I applied for somethin, all good

Missed two rings from this line, then dialed the Qantas Card site number (1300 992 700) and they confirmed it was them—had some queries, not a scam, but I always double‑check official numbers, just saying.
This is legit, aparently - Citibank acting for Virgin Money. Hard to hear the guys on the phone, though - sounds like they're from the Phillipines or India. Citi manages a bunch of cards, including Coles and Virgin Money.
Although the call seemed official, the heavy accent made it hard to follow; it sounded like a call centre in the Philippines or India representing Citibank, possibly inquiring about cards issued under Coles or Virgin Money.

No credit card here, must be a wrong no.
The voicemail requested I contact Qantas Money Card Security about transactions and supplied two numbers; after calling Qantas directly using the number on my card, they confirmed it was a scam and advised me to block the originating line, which I doubted since I'm not the primary cardholder.
Do not share personal details or follow any numbers they suggest; always verify using the phone number printed on the back of your credit card, as scammers are posting fake comments on number‑check sites to seem legitimate.
The conversation appears to be a scam; the person never identified themselves, and although some claimed it was from Citibank, I don’t hold an account there.
