Expert Opinion
It seems like a scammer is impersonating AGL, an Australian energy company, to gather personal information or payment details. The caller often claims to be from AGL's billing or collection department, insisting on verifying your identity with your name, date of birth, and account details. They might pressure you to pay over the phone, threatening late fees or other penalties. If you receive such a call, do not provide any personal or financial information. Instead, hang up and call AGL directly using the number on their official website. Block the number to prevent further attempts. Stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to AGL or your local authorities.
