Dwayne here, these guys are geting more clever by the day - the scam involves a fake cheque and they're even using Citibank's number to make it seem legit.
About time I cheked the reviews for this number, should've done it before geting a currency debit card with Citi... Been trying to sort out a complaint for weeks now, trasferred funds via Osko but they still havent arived, just got a call from them today, probibly following up on my 'close my account' email.
Recieved a call from a Philippino lady claiming to be from Citibank, knew my name but I wasnt having it - she said some coreespondance had been returned to them but I told her I dont bank with Citibank, then she mentioned a cheque, lol.
Lucky me, I didn't anser their call. I do have some bussiness with Citibank, but if this was legit, they should've left a message. And let me tell you, Citibank's been the worst bank I've ever delt with. Their websit's a joke, too.
I'm with the others on this one - Citibank's customer service is the WORST.
Worst bank ever! I've had an account with Citi for 10 years, just for direct deposit. They never paid me intrest, never asked me for anything. Then out of the blue, they send me a letter saying they're gonna suspend my account if I dont do this and that. I did everything they asked, and they still sent me another letter saying it wasn't good enought. I had to call their customer service number, which is overseas. They just kept passing me around in circles.
The guy on the phone had a super strong Asian accent. I coudn't understand a word he was saying. He claimed he was from my bank, but wouldn't say which one (I have three, lol). He wouldn't tell me what it was about, either. I asked him for ID, but he wouldn't give it to me. If this is Citibank's idea of customer service, they need to rethink their strategy. My wife listend in and coudn't make out what he was saying, either.
I called them back and the guy asked if I had a CitiBank card. I told him everything's all sorted out, thanks. This doesn't exacly fill me with confidence in their customer service... (14/04/2021)
Scam alart! They asked me to send my employment details to their email. Uh, no.
Honestly, Citibanks customer servise is a joke. I tried to get my money out for three weeks, but they kept sendin me cards with wrong addresses. I coudnt even pay my bills.
Worst bank to deal with, hands down. I've got a complaint in with the AFCA (Ombudsman) and I'm done with 'em.
Got a call at 2:30am. No talking, just silence.
