Telstra Tech Scam Warning?

Expert Opinion
Have you ever picked up a call that seemed too urgent about your financial security? These reports point to a classic scam operation targeting credit card holders and online accounts. Callers impersonate entities like Visa, Mastercard, Telstra, or PayPal, often with accents suggesting a call center abroad, and they hang up when challenged— a red flag for fraud. Don't share personal details; legitimate companies won't pressure you over the phone. Block the number, report to authorities like the ACCC in Australia, and enable call screening on your device. If suspicious, verify directly with the real organization using official contacts. Stay vigilant to protect your info.

Fraudsters pretended to be from Visa and Mastercard about an overseas payment. When I asked which bank, the line dropped. The voice sounded like an Indian call‑centre agent—stay alert.
