Received a bogus text claiming I bought a MacBook Pro, with a fake tracking number and a fake POC at 02 40170252 – total scam, wtf.
Got a note saying my pending parcel got damaged, but the sender/receiver info is gibberish; they want me to verify identity and pay to fix it – looks like a scam, yeah.
Alert: I got a fake message that said “JOHn Smith, parcel: G000000AU is pending for Home Delivery – Authorise now: (link)”. It used my actual name and a realistic tracking number, though the number doesn’t exist when I looked it up. Avoid clicking any links in texts or emails and always confirm the sender’s address or phone number.
