Reply YES if you would like us to book the next available National Broadband Network technician appointment for you. Thanks, Telstra." My internet suddenly malfunctioned, causing lag and connection issues. Minutes later, I got a text from this number offering technician services. I replied without thinking but told the woman who called me twice the next day that I wasn’t interested. I planned to contact my service provider instead. They were very pushy and even booked an appointment, claiming it needed immediate attention. Meanwhile, I received an official message from Telstra confirming the issue and stating they were fixing it. The problem was resolved by the time their appointment was scheduled. They claimed to be from Telstra, but I’m sure they weren’t. It’s strange how they contacted me right after the internet issue and knew my name and address. I suspect these might be hackers. Don’t let them into your home! I kept canceling the appointment, and any company that pushes this hard isn’t trustworthy.
