Aggressive Donation Calls: Scam Alert?
Summary — +61478481481
Expert Opinion
Like a wolf in sheep's clothing, calls from this number often masquerade as legitimate charity efforts but raise red flags with aggressive tactics and evasion. Multiple reports describe callers posing as representatives from Neighbourhood Watch, StreetSmart, or the Australian Federal Police, seeking donations without verifiable details. While one account claims legitimacy after checking with authorities, the overwhelming evidence points to scam behavior, including hang-ups, rudeness, and using multiple numbers. Hang up immediately if they pressure for money or personal info—never share banking details. Block the number and report to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) or your local police to curb these nuisances. Legit fundraisers provide clear verification and don't abuse you for declining.
