AGL Scam Alert: Don't Share Details!

A person claimed to represent AGL and offered a “better deal,” even asking if my ex‑boyfriend, who is no longer a contact, was still authorized. I had already updated my details with AGL, so the request seemed dubious. He then tried to obtain personal information to “verify my identity.” After checking online, I saw many reports labeling this number as a scam. I told him I was at work and asked for an email, but he kept pressing for my address. I realized I had spoken with this same number last July and had mistakenly shared details then. I regret it and have now blocked the number.

I was bombarded with 10 calls from this number today, all of which were offering me so-called 'freebies', prompting me to hang up and subsequently block and report the number.

A fake AGL salesperson contacted me, offering a better deal for internet and electricity, but then asked for my drivers licence number, and later my medicare and passport number.

I was contacted by an individual with a foreign accent, claiming to represent AGL, who had access to my personal details, including account information and email address. The caller used recorded AGL messages to offer a new contract with lower rates, raising suspicions about the call's authenticity.

Apparently, someone is impersonating AGL with a indian accent, they know alot about me, my account, my email adress and even my solar feed-in tariff, they use recorded messages from AGL and offer new contracts with lower rates, its pretty sophistacated and probaby a scamm.

Repeatedly receiving texts claiming a missed call with no voicemail, only to be met with an automated message from AGL anytime when attempting to call back.

It's likely a scam, they call me alot, like 4-6 times daily, without leaving any messages, which is very suspisous, and I think I should just block them now.
