Got a call today sayin they were from the Rural Fire Service, askin for donations. I just told 'em I wasn't interested and they hung up. Sounds like they've been doin this for a while.

No idea who the caller was, but I never gave 'em my number. Blocked it now, don't wanna deal with it.
Got a call on my home phone and they hung up as soon as I ansered.
The number they're usin is not from the RFBAQ, so don't trust it.
This is def a scam, got nothin to do with fire brigade, just usin the name, dont bother
Got a call from this number, but my phone didnt even ring. Just says I missed a call. Blocked 'em anyway.
Similar thing happend to me, phone didnt ring, just got a message sayin I missed a call.
Total scammer
Got a notification that I had a voicemail from this number, but my phone didnt even ring. There's no message, just silence. Deleted it anyway.
I'm so sick of these calls. I allready pay for 'fire levy' in my council rates, and then they have the nerve to call me like beggars. Blocked this number, done.
Honestly, charity calls like these are made to help a good cause. If you're not intrested, just be polite and decline. If you're really tired of getting calls, move to a secluded area with no phone service.
It's despicable how some individuals lack the courage to even greet the person they're calling, leaving one to wonder the purpose of such calls.
Upon answering, the caller immediately disconnects.
Heres the thing peoples, dont fall for this so called 'rural fire brigade' scam. They got in touch with me yesterday arvo and claimed to be from the RFB, but when i asked them to give me my pin number, they gave me some incorenct crap. Then they had the cheek to ask for my real name and i was like, no way.
The caller consistently hangs up without speaking, which is part of a pattern of calls from unknown numbers that also result in hang-ups, indicating a potential scam.
This number has called me around 10 times in the past year, usualy just hangs up when I answer.
The Rural Fire Brigade is just trying to raise funds.
I totaly agree with Bob - if youre unsure, just contact the Rural Fire Brigade directly and ask for a PIN number so you can verify any future calls. If the caller cant give you the PIN, you know its a scam.
If youre unsure about a call, just tell the caller to email you or write to you instead - that way, you can verify their identity and avoid scams.
Rural fire cheif gave some solid advice - donating locally is the way to go. No point handing money over to some random phone caller when it might not even reach those who need it.
Micheal says: Just got done with those bush fiers
This number rang me up and just hung up strait away. Super suspisious, what's the deal with that?
Calls me every now and then. These loosers just hang up when you answer. It's pretty rich, considering they'd be the first to expect the Fire Brigade to bail them out if they needed it. Shame our goverment's got its priorities all wrong. Check out this link: http://www.rfbaq.org/index.php?tgtPage=contact&page_id=82
Totally on board with your sentiments, but let's focus on the scammers who are making a quick buck off legit charities. This racket's been going on for ages, why hasn't anyone done anything about it? Has it been reported to Scamwatch yet? Perhaps somone should look into it.
Got another call from these guys today. Rang for like six times before I picked up, then they just hung up. Now their number's blocked - good riddance!
No issues if they introdused themselves properly. But just hanging up? That's just plain rude.
RFBAQ's warned about scammers using this number. If you wanna donate, do it through their oficial website only. Don't risk getting scammed: http://www.rfbaq.org/index.php?tgtPage=news&id=view,185
You're barking up the wrong tree, Bob! These guys are a private company claiming to collect for charities. The thing is, they keep most of the cash and pass on barely enought to cover their tracks. Don't fall for it - they're just exploting loopholes to get around the 'do not call' register.
Telemarketers, can't stand 'em. They're the worst.
These guys are posing as charity collectors, but it's all a scam. They're just a bunch of con artists.
