This number is associated with iiNet support, which, despite being a legitimate service, may have call centers located worldwide, and in this instance, did not provide adequate assistance with the issue at hand.
I think you've got the wrong iinet - I've been with them 13 years and they're great, good english speakers too - they've got call centres in NZ, Melbourne, Perth and South Africa
Right after I terminated my iinet internet service, the phone lit up with that number, so I let it go to voicemail.

After missing a call from this number with no voicemail left, I chose not to call back, staying cautious; if it were important they'd reach out again.
Upon receiving a call from this number on my mobile, I chose not to answer. Interestingly, I've also been getting calls from 08 9745 4777 and 08 9963 1742 on my home phone. When I did pick up one call, I was met with laughter and an Asian-sounding voice; after inquiring about their identity, they hung up abruptly. Given the warnings about potential scams, I'm inclined to believe these calls are not safe. What's puzzling is that when I tried calling one of the numbers back from work, I was told it was disconnected - which raises questions about how that's possible.

This number is definatly iinet (my spell check says inept and thats pretty close to the truth) - they're based at 24 Sangiorgio Ct, Osborne Park WA 6017. The ACT gov sold TransACT to iinet and now its a mess - wrong bills, took 6 months to get paper bills, rude staff who dont speak english. When their gear breaks they say its my fault - if you like a headache, iinet's your ISP
Gosh, iinet, I sent you an email and you rang me insted - if I wanted a call I'd have phoned or asked for one. Now I've got kids sleeping, can you please just email me back? Unplugged the phone now, bliss
Seems like they're associated with iiNet and apparently want you to call them, which apparently cuts their costs.

This is just a callback service iinet uses - if you hang up they'll call you back when someones free
The person on the other end claimed to work for iiNet's customer servis department, reaching out about a complaint I had filed.
