Beware: mysterious financial service scam

Expert Opinion
Calls from +61862886588 are mostly silent or drop after a quick "hello," which is a classic red flag for a robocall scam. They sometimes claim to offer vague "financial services" or just play endless music before ending the call. If you answer and hear nothing, hang up immediately and block the number. Don't share any personal details, and avoid calling back a recorded message—scammers often use it to verify active lines. Keep a log of the calls and report them to the Australian Communications and Media Authority if they become frequent. Using a call‑blocking app can also reduce the nuisance.
