Expert Opinion
During late‑night shifts, a high‑pitch automated voice may drop in claiming to be your bank, Telstra or an online retailer. Most of these dials fit a classic phishing pattern: they cite unauthorized purchases, fake payment alerts, or urgent account checks to pressure you. Never share personal details, PINs or click unknown prompts. Hang up, block the number, and report the incident to your service provider’s fraud desk or the national spam helpline. Keep a log of call times and scripts – it helps authorities spot trends and protects others from the same scheme. Stay skeptical and let the call end on your terms.
