UK numbers: context and signals
Unsure about a UK caller? Find fresh community reports to judge unknown calls or texts. In London, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh or Glasgow you’ll see legitimate callbacks (banks, clinics, deliveries) alongside waves of automated or misleading contacts. Area codes like 020, 0161, 0121, 0131 are not reliable for location due to portability/VoIP — use them as context, not proof.
What to do: if unsure, return calls via the official number on the company site/app, check in‑app notices, and don’t share one‑time codes. Use device filters/blocks and, if available, carrier tools (EE, O2, Vodafone, Three). Share a short factual note here so others can decide faster.

I got a call on 04/11/2025 at 15:41; an automated female voice started playing. When I tried to use speaker because my phone’s busted, the line dropped. Looks like an active number‑checking attempt – I’ve already blocked the number, mate.
Another unwanted harassment call – quite aggressive and best ignored.
The call lasted 12.5 hours before cutting off as soon as I answered

An unknown caller rang; I didn’t recognise the number at all.
I’m unsure how they obtained my number, but these callers persist daily – initially claiming I was a cyber‑crime victim, later alleging I’m part of a crime ring. They refuse to remove my number, forcing me to use a blocker to finally halt the calls, though attempts continue each day. Whoever is behind this scam should seriously reconsider their actions.
Randstad reached out and appeared credible – the conversation was straightforward.
Someone's posing as an acquaintance to reel you in via text – total scam, mate.
