Halo is a military science fiction media franchise that was originally developed by Bungie and now managed by 343 Industries, part of Microsoft's Xbox Game Studios. The series began in 2001 with the first-person shooter video game Halo: Combat Evolved and has since expanded to include novels, comics, TV shows and more games. Recently they launched their largest multiplayer update yet called Echoes Within for Halo Infinite Season 3 which includes new maps, modes as well as weapons & equipment items. In addition to this sci-fi universe where humans have colonized hundreds of worlds only to face off against an alien alliance known as Covenant; there are also medical devices used for immobilizing head or neck fractures called halo braces according Merriam-Webster dictionary definition on "halo".
