Daniel Domschot scam: Protect your Craigslist deals!

Expert Opinion
It’s odd how a single phone number keeps resurfacing across unrelated Craigslist and dating‑site posts, all pointing to the same fraud pattern. The reports describe a scammer—often using the alias Daniel Domschot—who replies to ads with a polished email, offers a certified or business check, and then asks for a cash‑back or shipping fee. Victims should never deposit an unexpected fake check, never forward personal info, and should block the number on their device. Report the interaction to the platform, the FTC, and local law‑enforcement. Keep personal details private and consider using a call‑blocking app to stop future texts.
