Standard Bank scam calls – how to protect yourself!
Summary — +1112463000
Expert Opinion
Ever wonder why a number that pretends to be your bank keeps hanging up as soon as you answer? The pattern you’re seeing – dropped calls, requests for your ID, and no voicemail – is a classic phishing scam targeting personal data. Under data protection rules, you aren’t obliged to share any information with an unknown caller, and you can treat the call as unsolicited marketing. Block the number, report it to your carrier and to the relevant consumer protection agency, and always verify any request by calling the official bank line yourself. Using a call‑blocking app and regularly reviewing your privacy settings can further reduce exposure.
