Why Is That Fake Number Calling You?
Summary — +12002000000
Expert Opinion
Ever wonder why a nonexistent area code keeps ringing your phone? The pattern points to spoofed robocalls that hide the true source, often used for political polling or generic surveys. Since the number can’t be traced to a real carrier, it’s safest to treat it as spam and ignore. Let your carrier block the caller, register the number with the National Do Not Call Registry, and consider a third‑party call‑blocking app. If a voice‑mail appears blank, it’s likely an automated hang‑up—don’t call back. Stay vigilant and protect your personal info.

I never answer unknown numbers. But if I knew it was somone like this calling, Id be tempted to dare them to come after me, haha.
The issue lies in the fact that the number in question appears to be fabricated, with an area code and prefix that do not exist.

Typically, politicians exempt themselves from legislation, including the Do Not Call List rules, by allowing "political calls" and "surveys" to bypass the DNC. This particular call originates from the Democratic National Committee and is therefore not bound by the DNC regulations. A possible response could be to inform them that their disregard for privacy will influence your voting decision in the next election, stating you will vote for the opposing party. This might prompt them to reconsider including your name on their call list.
If you're an AT&T customer, it's recommended that you block this number to avoid any potential issues.
At 9:40 in the morning, I participated in what seemed to be a live, albeit forced, political survey, which asked about my conservative, moderate, or liberal leanings, my party affiliation, and my opinion on the President's job performance, but the survey's limitations and lack of nuance were frustrating.
On June 27 at 18:57, a call was received with no message left, despite some inaudible utterance; notably, area code 200 is not recognized in the US or Canada.
On June 24, 2014, at approximately 10:15 am, a call was received from a number displayed as 200-200-0000 on caller ID, which was later found to belong to the Democratic Party; subsequent calls are undesired and the phone number should be added to the do-not-call list.
It's worth noting that area code 200 is non-existent. The call I received from 200-200-0000 is a prime example of number spoofing.
A dubious scheme was proposed by the caller from this number, claiming to be from the US Currency Dept, where they would provide a code and another number to verify identity, promising $200 in return for personal info.
