I never signed up for Google Voice and have no interest in it. In my view, Google’s security policies prevent them from dialing out with unexpected codes.

The idea of google voice is fine, but i dont use it, never asked for it, and dont want it. It seems to me that google is cautious enought with their security to not send unsoliciated codes to people.

The next day she messaged that she’d call and asked me to enter a two‑digit code when I answered. I kept forwarding screenshots of the odd messages (she wasn’t the sender, just documenting that someone was using her number). The caller insisted it wasn’t a hack and urged me to type the verification code, calling six times in a row and leaving automated voicemails until she finally clarified it was never her. Verizon couldn’t help.
