I was offered a supposed $10,000 grant, but only if I purchased an eBay card, which raised suspicions about the legitimacy of the offer
Fake government grant scam warning!
Summary — +12026435023
Expert Opinion
Heads up: this number is repeatedly tied to bogus government grant offers that ask for money up front. Callers claim you’ve been selected for a $14,000‑$15,000 payout, then push you to purchase a MoneyGram or debit card, or to call a “senior account manager” at a different number. The pattern—official‑sounding name, grant number, and urgent payment request—is classic advance‑fee fraud. Hang up, block the number, and never share personal or banking details. If you’re unsure, verify directly with the legitimate agency using official contact info, not the one the caller provides.

It's unbelievable that someone would think the government would randomly call to offer thousands of dollars, especially considering the meager stimulus checks provided to those in need.
