Federal‑loan scam callers promise $9K – protect your info!

Expert Opinion
Got a call claiming you're eligible for a $9,000 credit you’ll never have to pay back, but the speaker could barely speak English and asked for card details to 'remove' you from a list. This pattern matches a common scam that pretends to be a federal agency and pressures victims with fast‑money promises. Never share personal or financial information to unsolicited callers, and hang up if the conversation turns vague or aggressive. Register your number with the national Do‑Not‑Call Registry, block the offending line, and report the incident to the FTC or your local consumer protection office. Staying skeptical and keeping records helps stop repeat calls.
