The caller made a false promise of a significant grant in exchange for personal information
Why Government Grant Calls Are Fraud
Summary — +12026818723
Expert Opinion
Imagine getting a call promising a $9,000 government grant—only to hear a request for payment or personal data. That red flag should send you straight to the hang‑up button. These calls are classic advance‑fee scams: they exploit hope and urgency, then demand fees, gift‑card purchases, or banking info. Never share verification codes, personal IDs, or send money to unlock a supposed grant. If you suspect a scam, block the number, report it to the FTC or your carrier, and run a quick online search for similar complaints. Staying skeptical and protecting your details is the cheapest insurance against these fraudsters.
