A representative from USAA, named Ryan Zeigler, contacted me. He works in the Call Center and was handling my son's case, who was involved in a rear-end collision with a USAA-insured vehicle. Ryan informed me that my car was considered a total loss and would not be repaired. He mentioned that USAA had filed paperwork with the state to have my vehicle titled as salvaged and were partnering with a salvage company named Co-Part. Throughout the conversation, Ryan was aggressive and uncooperative, stating that the offer they made was final and there would be no further negotiations or assistance with a rental car. His behavior was troubling, especially since he claimed to have the authority to settle my claim as a claim manager over the Call Center.
It's worth noting that USAA is a legitimate entity, but beware of fraudsters who may be spoofing their number to scam people, so if you're unsure, it's best to contact the company directly to verify.
