Yesterday afternoon, I noticed a surge of reports about persistent, unknown calls from this line that often end abruptly or offer vague business proposals. The pattern suggests a harassing scam that targets owners and managers, frequently using generic IDs like “International.” If you receive such calls, let the call go to voicemail, block the number through your carrier, and report it to the FTC and your state’s consumer protection office. Upon answering and stating our business name, the caller inquired about the owner, to which I replied that they were unavailable. When I offered to take a message, the caller provided a name and mentioned a business proposal, but upon repetition, the name was different from what I initially heard, and a different number was given than the one displayed on the caller ID.
