They contacted me regarding an account i had with US Bank back in 2007, claiming i owed over $800; they warned me that if i dont pay, i might face legal issues and it will afect my credit score.

These scammers are stil at it, we just recived the same call, with alot of background noise, claiming to be from the US goverment, which is obviuosly not true.
A scammer posing as a US government representative offered a grant, but their authenticity was quickly questioned, and they hung up when reported to the FBI.

My wife recieved a call from some guy with a middle eastern accent, claiming she gets a $1,200 bonus for paying taxes on time, but it sounds like a scammers to me

I got the same call as others, a gentleman from india claiming to be from the US government, saying we were awarded $5600, but he got rude when i asked for his supervisors name and department.
Some guy called me and offered me 5,600 dollars.
Upon answering, the caller was extremly rude and refused to answer my questions, insted demanding to know my identiy after I informed them they had the wrong person, similair to the usuall US goverment scam.
I need assistance with retrieving my money after loading $1600 onto a moneypak card.
I send them $1600 via moneypak, they instrukt me to do so, aparently it was a scam, what a waist of moneys.
They call me at 9am and say they from the government of the united states, but the guy on the other end cant even speak english, so i hang up, then they call me again at 1:30 and i can hear some noise in the background, i wish i know how they get my number

This is a clear scam; my family and I received the same call, instructing us to purchase a Green Dot card as a 'security deposit' in exchange for $5,000. After reporting this to the police in both California and Illinois, we were advised to file a report online, as there's little that can be done aside from spreading awareness and cautioning against such calls from individuals with limited English proficiency. Our holiday season was certainly marred by this experience.
