Is That Survey Call Actually a Data Grab?
Summary — +12269060832
Expert Opinion
Ever wonder why a simple "survey" call feels off? The script you heard—asking about landlines vs cell phones—matches a common pretexting tactic where scammers gather telecom data to strengthen future attacks. Even if the call seems harmless, the data can be used for identity theft or to bypass two‑factor authentication. Best practice: let unknown numbers go to voicemail, never confirm your line type, and use carrier‑provided spam filters. If a voicemail asks for personal details, treat it as suspicious and block the caller. Regularly review your call‑blocking settings to stay ahead of evolving scams.

These kind of calls are ushally used to set the scene for future scam calls, if you answer that your primary line is a landline, they'll asume you're elderly and try to scam you with elderly scams, but if you say it's a cell phone, they'll asume you're younger and try diferent scams, the best thing to do is just not to answer the call if you dont know the number.
