Expert Opinion
Imagine receiving a silent hang‑up from +123 and wondering who’s behind it. Under U.S. privacy law you aren’t required to share personal data with unknown callers, and you can legally refuse to engage. Start by blocking the number on your device and report the pattern to your carrier—many providers flag repeated nuisance calls. If the caller claims affiliation with a known brand, request proof of identity and a written privacy notice; they must honor a legitimate data‑access request under GDPR‑like regulations if they’re operating overseas. Keep a log of call times, frequencies, and any recorded voice snippets to aid any future complaint to the FTC or local consumer agency.
