Beware Fake Officers Association Donation Requests

Expert Opinion
Imagine fielding a call that pretends to be a "Police Association" charity and instantly feels off. Most reports describe a vague "Officers Association" that pressures for donations, uses broken English, and vanishes when you call back. The pattern points to a spoofed nonprofit front, likely run from North Carolina but targeting other states. Hang up without engaging, block the number, and report it to the FTC’s Do Not Call list. Avoid returning the call—call‑backs feed their database. Enable carrier‑level spam filters and consider a reputable call‑blocking app. Keep a log of the caller ID for future reference, and share it with neighbors to curb the spread.
