Expert Opinion
Imagine getting bombarded by a single number that claims to be a collection agency, a government ministry, or even a scammer pulling names out of thin air. The pattern here shows repeated, aggressive outreach from +1‑289‑789‑1025, often demanding personal or payment info without verifiable credentials. Under data protection law, any unsolicited request for sensitive data must be backed by a clear, lawful purpose and proper identification. If the caller can’t prove who they are, you’re within your rights to hang up, block the number, and report the incident to your telecom provider and the consumer protection agency. Keep records of call logs and any messages as evidence, and never share credit‑card numbers, Social Security numbers, or banking details with unknown callers. When in doubt, contact the alleged organization directly using official contact info from their website, not the number that called you.
