Expert Opinion
Like a wolf in grandma's clothing, this number shows up pretending to be a relative. Callers spin a story about a nephew or cousin needing help, often switching languages to add urgency. The hallmarks are vague family ties, a request for an address or money, and a frantic tone. If you get such a call, don’t share personal info, verify the story by contacting the alleged family member directly, and hang up if anything feels off. Report the number to your carrier and to the FTC to help curb the grandparent scam wave.
