The pattern points to a classic phishing scam that pretends to have intercepted an Interac e‑Transfer and asks for banking details. These messages often arrive at odd hours and use familiar phrasing to lower defenses. If you get a similar note, do not click any link and verify any claimed payment directly through your bank’s official app or website. Block the number, report it to your carrier, and consider filing a complaint with the Canadian Anti‑Fraud Centre.
