Expert Opinion
It’s odd how a single nine‑digit number can masquerade as dozens of different agencies while relentlessly pestering customers. The pattern here points to a third‑party debt‑collection outfit that bought delinquent Bell accounts and is using aggressive, often illegal, calling practices. Victims should log each call, request written validation of the debt, and file complaints with the FTC, the Canadian Radio‑Television and Telecommunications Commission, and their province’s consumer protection agency. Blocking the number on your phone, enrolling in the National Do‑Not‑Call List, and disputing any unauthorized charges directly with Bell can curb the harassment. If the calls persist, consider a small‑claims suit or a police report for repeated harassment.

My husband passed away in 2011, and I told Bell all about it - sent 'em a death certificate and everythin'. But then, two months later, they're callin' me about som outstanding bill. I'm like, 'Uh, didnt I just tell you my husband died?' And they're all, 'Oh, sorry, we didnt get that info.' So I send it again, and they're all, 'Okay, everythin's taken care of.' But nope, they just keep callin', and now they're sayin' they're gonna report me to the credit buro. It's just too much.
I've finaly had to block this number. If they start callin' from another one, I'll block that too. I've got a few numbers I can block, so they're just gonna have to keep tryin' if they wanna get thru.
I'm gettin' so sick of these calls. They've been callin' my cell non-stop since July - over 60 times. It's like, they call, let it ring three times, and then just hang up. If they'd just leave a message, we could deal with this like adults. But no, they just keep callin', 7-10 times a day. And the worst part? They're callin' about som account that's not even mine - it's my friend's, and I was just a reference. Can't they just stop alredy?
This number's been callin' my house non-stop for weeks - hundreds of times. We have no idear what they want.
This is all just part of som shady scam - the 411 scam, or whatever. These people are lookin' for your financial info, and they're all over the place - Jamaica, Nigeria, who knows. They're like a big ol' scammin' cartel. And you know what the craziest part is? They actualy think they're justified in stealin' from people just 'cause som other folks in their country are corrupt. Like, what even is that?
Totaly with you on this. Found out these calls are actualy from within Bell Canada itself - get this - from the Gov't. And the worst part? They dont fall under the same rules as regulur collection agencies, so they can just keep callin' all day. I mean, I owe 'em 40 bucks, but I'm payin' it off a bit at a time. Yet, they just keep callin', 12 times a day, at 7:30 am and late at nite. I'm like, 'Look, every time you call, you're just losin' money.' But they just wont listen.

Our experiance with Bell was similar, we cancelled our subscription in June 2010 and recieved a statement with a credit of about $2, but then in November 2010, we started geting calls from a collection agency claiming we owed them money for a movie rental we never made, my husband told them he wont pay for somthing we never bought, now we get calls from this number 2-3 times a day with a recording asking for him
Frustration has reached a boiling point with these constant calls, which continue even after blocking, as they use different lines, don't answer when picked up, and call at least six times daily, prompting me to report them to the BBB as suggested by another user.
Apparently, I was misled about the cancellation fees when I ended my contract with Bell, as I was assured I had a credit of $33, but later they claimed I owed over $150, despite my bank statement verifying my payments, and now they're constantly harassing me, which is disturbing given my 5-year history with them as a trouble-free customer.
