Expert Opinion
Watch out for unsolicited health‑related texts that claim you owe money or promise patient alerts. These messages often spoof legitimate providers like Athena Health or local clinics, using familiar branding to trick you into clicking links. Verify any bill by contacting the provider directly using a known phone number, not the one in the message. Never share personal or payment info via a text link, and block the number after reporting it to your carrier. If you keep getting similar alerts, consider registering on the national Do Not Call registry and enable spam filters on your device.
